In Ballroom Someone lives in an endless repetition: every day the same balls in the same bin. To keep from going crazy, Someone starts throwing, carefully, then more wildly, then almost magically. The balls draw long, graceful arcs through the space, but sometimes things go wrong. How much wrong can one person take?
Between monotony and imagination, Someone seeks a new dimension to escape the gray, and sometimes it succeeds wonderfully.
The audience takes a seat in a converted truck with a concrete set by artist Lodewijk Heylen. There, Stijn Grupping, carried by the sounds of Jochem Baelus and Frederik Meulyzer, creates a hypnotizing dance of bouncing balls: precise, playful, and downright enchanting.
