Murnau's infamous, unofficial adaptation of Bram Stokers Dracula stars an unforgettable Max Schreck as Count Orlok: a creepy vampire who lures his victims to his shadowy castle in Transylvania. Het work of Haley Fohr (Circuit Des Yeux, a Chicago-based musician, composer, and artist, is not easily pigeonholed. Her oeuvre includes acclaimed albums, experimental folk, free improvisation, painting, audiovisual installations, and compositions for large ensembles. She makes haunting, emotionally layered music that touches the human soul. Fohr's voice is a powerful, almost supernatural instrument with a range of four octaves, with which she effortlessly switches between soft melodies, animal sounds, and deep, elemental wails. She utilizes this full range in maximalist compositions that fearlessly navigate between genres and styles.\nSince 2007, she has been releasing music as Circuit des Yeux on labels such as Thrill Jockey, Matador, and Drag City. Her recent albums appeared in numerous year-end lists, including those of The Wire and NPR. Her latest album, Halo on the Inside, was released last year on Matador Records and was showered with praise by Pitchfork and The New York Times. "An artist who is increasingly, and excitingly enough, without equal," according to Bandcamp Daily.
