In Symfonische Verhalen tells Morphose
Trio timeless stories based on some of the most beloved symphonic works. The compositions have been arranged by the trio themselves, tailored to their unique composition, creating a modern and authentic interpretation.
The concert opens with the dreamy sounds of Debussy’s ‘Prélude à l’Après-midi d’un Faune’, in which the shimmering life of a faun on a sunny afternoon comes to life. Subsequently, Gershwin’s ‘Porgy and Bess Suite’ takes you to the America of the 1930s, where jazz, blues, and classical music meet in a beautiful story about love and resilience. In Dvořáks Largo from Symphony no. 9 resonates with deep emotion and melancholy, while Mussorgsky’s ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’ offers a lively musical journey past colorful images and scenes. Ravel’s ‘Ma Mère l’Oye’ enchants with its delicate sounds and stories of timeless fairy tales, to conclude with Bernstein’s ‘West Side Story’: a modern retelling of Romeo and Juliet full of passion, rhythm, and the sparkling spirit of New York City.
