Classical in the Kerk Zomert Dit summer-spiced program lets light-running musical lines contrast with rhythmic sharpness. Music that seems to arise naturally from violin and piano versus works that require special commitment from the soloists. With classical and other sounds and a touch of Flemish for Flanders party, words like surprising, tough, and fascinating are the right choice. Violist Stefan Willems already obtained his violin diploma at the Antwerp conservatory during his rhetoric as a seventeen-year-old. He did postgraduate studies in London. He worked with, among others, Yehudi Menuhin, gave concerts from Canada to Japan and was a member of the Spiegel Strijkkwartet for 25 years with which he was a festival star of the Festival van Vlaanderen. Radio Klara nominated his recording of Beethoven's violin sonatas for CD of the week. Pianist Erik Claeys, from Kalmthout, studied at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven and at the Antwerp conservatory. He is active as a piano virtuoso, not only with the solo repertoire for keyboard, but also with chamber music from baroque to contemporary in collaboration with various musicians. Erik is fascinated by keyboards and their composers through the centuries. He is creative as a composer of piano music, songs, and youth music theater. In the context of Vlaanderen Feest
