Friday, June 12, 2026, at 10:00 AM, visit to the archive of the AMVB (Archive and museum for Flemish life in Brussels) in Brussels, (with the open library of Familiekunde Brussel) Many of our ancestors come from other parts of Belgium or the world. Often they stayed for a few years or generations in Brussels to move from there to the green outskirts around Brussels. Veel Vlamingen found each other in the Brussels metropolis through shops, associations, churches, etc. The AMVB aims to preserve and interpret that Dutch-speaking presence. Stephanie Lamaire makes it clear to us what we might find here. Whoever wishes can linger afterwards in the open library of Familiekunde Brussel. Location: AMVB, Arduinkaai 28 at 1000 Brussels Appointment on site or at 9:00 AM at the tram stop Dansaert Park in Groot-Bijgaarden. There we will take the tram and metro together to metro station ‘IJzer’ to walk for another 10 minutes to the AMVB. This activity (without tram ride) is free for FV members upon presentation of their membership card – Non-members pay a contribution of 5.00 euros.
