Every Friday evening throughout the summer, a free double concert in the garden of Ensemble.
Constance • 7 PM
cabaret, poetry, spoken-word
Constance tells poetic stories that she supports with music.
BIJT • 8 PM
cabaret, spoken-word, Dutch-language, electropop
BIJT brings a refreshing mix of cabaret and electropop, centered around songwriter Ruth-Marie. Think of the sharp tongue of Kaat Van Stralen and the rebellion of Maria Iskariot in a dark synthpop sauce. Together with bassist/guitarist Menno Buggenhout and drummer Mathias Ghesquière, they bring poetic protest music, in Dutch. Mesmerizing, human, sincere.
After their first EP 'waar uw mond is' (2024), they will release their first album 'bijt mij tot ik' in January 2026. The album is about breaking and healing in the daily mindfuck of this world, in different flavors of electropop. Wannes Notenbaert (puntjudith, Meis) took care of the production and mix. The first single from the album, 123 piano, was positively received by various online magazines such as Luminous Dash and DaMusic, and enjoys airplay on local radio stations Urgent and Radio Centraal.
Solo, Ruth-Marie also captivates you with small songs about big feelings, on piano and guitar.
In case of announced rain, the concert will take place under the shelter in the courtyard or indoors. The concerts are free, but a voluntary contribution in the hat for the artists is welcome.
