Amrum, spring 1945. In the final days of the war, 12-year-old Nanning braves the rough sea to hunt seals, fishes at night, and works on the nearby farm to help his mother support the family. Despite the difficult circumstances, life on the beautiful, wind-swept island feels almost like a paradise.
