Billy. is sparkling summers with a bittersweet aftertaste, packaged in an indie pop-rock band from Kortrijk. Their music is an exploration of the highs and lows of life, expressed through sunny reverbs and pink lemonade beats. Their songs, a collection of dualities, mix melodic melancholy with infectiousness. Their debut single ‘Turn Me Down’ (2023), in which an inner struggle for trust coincides with letting go, opened up their sound and left listeners craving more. After this first studio experience in Barefoot Recording Studio at Arjan Bogaert (Wielsbeke), the band dived into the studio again in 2025, this time in SputnikStudio (Schoten) with Joes Brands (IBE, Admiral Freebee, Jérémie Vrielinck). There, the band prepared 2 brand new singles. The first single of that, ‘Aloha’, released on 02/10/2025, is about the magical moment of eye contact with someone who completely enchants you, causing time and reality to fade. The song captures the tension between holding on and letting go, and encourages you to stay in the moment and not let yourself be stopped by fear or doubt. This energetic indie-rock single was followed on November 6, 2025, with the release of ‘Frostbite’, an introspective struggle between head and heart, which is interpreted with melancholic melodies, warm synth layers, and a dreamy but intense soundscape. In 2025, Billy. was selected as Spoetnik Laureaat of the Wilde Westen and Stadsartiest Kortrijk.
