Jazzathome: Floris & the Flames

Vier Belgische artists who share a passion for music… and their red hair: this is Floris and the Flames! With their music, Floris and the Flames cross the boundaries between classical, pop-rock, and folk. The special combination of violin, piano, bass guitar, drums, and electronics creates a unique sound. Their energetic performances move the audience, both in concert halls and on large open-air stages. Floris Willem, Gert Peeten, Dries Peeten, and Simon Schrooten enjoyed a classical education and love to go off the beaten path. Assisted by Belgian composer/arranger Laurent Beeckmans, they bring their own compositions and original reworkings of classical masterpieces (Bach, Vivaldi, Paganini, Glass…). Expect fiery music with a versatile character! The group has been invited to, among others, the Centre for Fine Arts (BOZAR) in Brussels, the MuTh concert hall of the Wiener Sängerknaben, and the Theater am Spittelberg in Vienna, the television program De Ideale Wereld (Canvas), and the world exhibition “EXPO 2020” in Dubai.
