After eight years of full focus on his band Mooneye, Michiel Libberecht is stepping out for the first time under his own name, and doing so in his mother tongue, West Flemish.
Armed with his acoustic guitar and inspired by his heroes Townes Van Zandt, Adrianne Lenker, Jeff Tweedy and Bonny ‘Prince’ Billy, he searches for honest, pure songs. The melancholic character of the music resonates in both the voice and the lyrics, but humor and self-deprecation are never far away either. There is the love for language and melody, but also the eternal restlessness to write yet another song in the hope of getting a little closer to himself and/or the truth.
