Radio Onderstroom returns for one day and lets Ostend sound from sunrise to sunset through stories, music, and live reports by and with its residents. On June 20, 2026, the city forms the backdrop for a unique radio marathon in the context of De Langste Dag. From various locations, reporters, artists, and residents set out to capture sounds, encounters, and moments. Everyone can participate: feel free to stop by the meeting point and share your experiences, impressions, or stories! This edition also marks 40 years since the original De Langste Dag broadcast by Jef Cornelis in 1986, and breathes new life into that iconic day with a contemporary, participatory interpretation. PRACTICAL Continuous from 05:30 to 22:30 ABOUT THE LONGEST DAY From sunrise to sunset. Artists move in and between Mu.ZEE and KAAP in Ostend. Various performances, some continuous. One visible and loud, the other barely perceptible. The actions follow the rhythm of the sun, the tides, and the clock. It will be a long day, almost the longest.
