Sint-Pieterskerk, Puurs
Free
On the occasion of Open Monumentendag on Sunday, September 13, the Saint-Pieterskerk van Puurs will be opened to the public. Discover the tower of the Sint-Pieterskerk and take a guided climb to the organ and carillon. Halfway up the tower, you will get to know the 300-year-old Delahaye organ. The history, operation, and playing of this special instrument will be explained. High in the tower, the carillon room awaits, where you will receive an explanation about the instrument. For this free guided climb, you must register in advance via the website of the municipality of Puurs-Sint-Amands. Keep in mind that the tower staircase has 150 steps and the last part is quite steep. During any waiting time, the beautiful interior of the church can be visited under guidance. A maximum of 8 visitors are allowed per climb. The minimum age is 6 years; young people up to 16 years only in the company of a supervisor. Come on time, we will gather at the entrance of the church.
