Kanda

Stéphane Galland, a world-renowned drummer for his collaborations with Aka Moon, Joe Zawinul or Ibrahim Maalouf, never ceases to push the limits. His incandescent trio with Lúcia Pires and Louise van den Heuvel explores the most primitive roots of rhythm. Like his name with its multiple resonances — from the Indian rhythmic cycle to the energetic roots of yoga — Kanda explores different sound forms, between acoustic and electronic, where roles blur and textures transform. Carried by hypnotic cycles, the music oscillates between raw energy and suspended climates, mixing deep groove, airy melodies and almost tribal pulsations.
