Night of the Bat

We start this Night of the Bat with a presentation about the life of bats. This will take place in the upper room of the Faunahuis in the Burreken. You will learn what a bat's year looks like and we will focus on the species that occur in Flanders and more specifically around the Burreken. This lecture lasts about an hour. After a short break, we will leave for a walk in the nature reserve. It will be dark by then and the first bats will come out, if the weather cooperates. Our guide has a bat detector with him with which he can make the sounds of the bats audible to the participants and which enables him to determine which species of bat it is. Every bat species calls at a different frequency. Exciting, right? ,
