PROVINCIAL DOMAIN KEMMELBERG - KEMMEL - 7 KM In Heuvelland are the public domains and nature reserves of the Province, Agentschap Natuur and Bos en Natuurpunt neatly divided. Op de Kemmelberg, the Provincie West-Flanders is responsible for the purchase, protection, and expansion of nature reserves. It started in 1995 with the purchase of 21 hectares of forest and other lands. The most recent purchase was that of 29 hectares from the Geelhand family in 2022, where, in addition to the De Chalet domain, three valuable small forests such as Voorbos, Burgkouter, and l’Enfer ensured that the provincial domain now covers no less than 190 hectares! It is a beautiful mix of forest, hayfields, meadows, hedges, ponds, ... on all flanks and the top of the Kemmelberg. - NEW - 4 DOMAIN WALKS This is one of the four 'domain walks' this year, where we do not make large landscape walks as usual, but focus on one area. These 4 domain walks are: July 1: provincial domain Palingbeek - July 8: ANB domain Viconia clay pits - July 15: provincial domain Kemmelberg - August 19: ANB domain Sint Sixtusbossen. SUMMER TOURS 2026 General Summer Tours is an organization of Natuurpunt De Bron and partners. In this 17th edition, there are 25 walks; on every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evening in July and August.
