Soetkin Baptist is a Belgian singer and songwriter known for her authentic voice that touches from the depths. After immersing herself in Belgian folk with projects like Ishtar and Olla Vogala, she made a name for herself internationally in the world of early music. Her musical path is broad and idiosyncratic: from classical to pop, from jazz to choir and world music. That versatility forms a rich breeding ground for her personal work and her innovative vocal arrangements, in which tradition and innovation meet. Since her move to Norway in 2015, Soetkin has become an indispensable part of the Norwegian music scene, as a solo artist and as an inspiring coach of various choirs. With ‘her’ Det Vilde Korkeert she now returns to Belgium.
