A word from the artist:
Kelein, textile and upcycling artist
Creative since I was very little, I had the joy of learning various modes of expression: drawing, dance, and music.
Embroidery and sewing followed naturally. I have been sewing my own clothes since my adolescence. Out of rebellion, against the dictates of fashion and overconsumption, and because it’s cooler to wear unique clothes.
Passionate about stage, historical, and cinema costumes, I studied to become a theater and folklore costumer.
Today, it is the sustainable aspect of my work that guides me.
Natural materials make up my creations: cotton, wool, linen, silk. These are exclusively recycled, thrifted, exchanged, donated materials.
I let myself be inspired by these forgotten materials in my creative process. Always looking for second-hand fabrics, I give a second life to these fabrics full of charm and history.
See you very soon.
