In the mid-90s, Jeff Buckley was a young, rising star with an extraordinary voice and groundbreaking artistry. In 1994, he released his debut album 'Grace', with the unforgettable cover of Leonard Cohens 'Hallelujah'. Just three years later, the music world was in turmoil when Buckley suddenly died at the age of 30. A look into the all-too-short life of a unique artist, told based on never-before-seen material from Buckley's archives and personal stories. Commentaar Oscar-nominated filmmaker Amy Berg (Deliver Us From Evil) worked for three decades on her documentary about Jeff Buckley. Thanks to the cooperation of Buckley's mother and his two most important partners, the film contains a wealth of original material, including diary-like messages from Buckley on his answering machine, and of course a lot of music.
