Dee Dee Bridgewater

Dee Dee Bridgewater is one of the most versatile and influential voices in jazz. The three-time Grammy winner has been pushing boundaries for decades with her personal, daring interpretations of the jazz repertoire. Her album Eleanora Fagan: To Billie With Love won the Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Album. She began her career with the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Big Band and, in the 1970s, collaborated with greats such as Max Roach, Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon and Dizzy Gillespie. As a producer, she founded DDB Records, through which she released, among other things, the double Grammy-winning Dear Ella. Bridgewater also made a deep impression in the theatre: she won a Tony Award for The Wiz and shone in Sophisticated Ladies, Cabaret, Carmen and Lady Day. With roles on Broadway, in film and on television, she has become a true entertainment polymath. Following memorable concerts at De Roma in 2010 and 2018, she now returns to Borgerhout, once again as an artist at the peak of her powers.
