MICHAEL is the film portrait of the life and artistic legacy of one of the most influential artists the world has ever known.
The film tells the story of the life of Michael Jackson, his music and everything around it, the path he traveled from extraordinary talent and the face of the Jackson Five to the visionary artist who, with his creative ambition, developed a boundless urge to become the greatest entertainer in the world. His life off-stage is covered, but also iconic performances from the beginning of his solo career, making the viewer feel like they are in the front row with Michael Jackson. His story begins here.
The lead roles in MICHAEL are played by Jaafar Jackson, who makes his feature film debut, Nia Long (Empire, The Best Man franchise), Laura Harrier (BlacKkKlansman, Spider-Man: Homecoming) and Juliano Krue Valdi (The Loud House, Arco). In addition, there are roles for Miles Teller (Top Gun: Maverick, Whiplash) and Colman Domingo, who has had two nominations for an Academy Award® (Sing Sing, Rustin).
MICHAEL is directed by Antoine Fuqua, the successful filmmaker of Training Day, Olympus Has Fallen and The Equalizer franchise, and is based on a screenplay by three-time Academy Award® nominee John Logan (Gladiator, The Aviator).
