It is gradually becoming a tradition. Every three years, two choirs from Adegem organize several atmospheric Christmas concerts in the Saint-Adrianuskerk van Adegem. This year it is happening again. Het Gemengd Koor Canticorum under the direction of Jan Wauters and the school choir of 'De Papaver' under the direction of Annelies Lammertyn will once again perform a very varied program. The theme of 'peace' is prominently brought forward. In addition, Canticorum performs some highlights from classical choral music and surprising, more contemporary music. The school choir 'De Papaver' sings fresh, well-known pop tunes. They close with a sing-along moment in which the audience is also involved.
They are accompanied by 3 brilliant professional musicians: Stijn Wauters (piano), Raf Minten (saxophone) and Ad Van de Wege (organ).
The concerts will take place on Saturday, December 19 at 8 PM and Sunday, December 20 at 3 PM and 6 PM. The doors open half an hour before each concert. There are numbered seats. The admission price is € 12 in presale and € 15 at the door. Children under 12 years pay € 5. One free drink is also included in that price.
The proceeds of these concerts go to the playground furnishing of the school and the operations of both choirs.
After the concert, you can catch up during the reception in the multipurpose hall of CC Den Hoogen Pad. The first drink is free via the admission ticket; other drinks can be ordered on the spot.
Admission tickets can be obtained via the secretariat of the school De Papaver, via the choir members and via conductor Jan Wauters: jan.wauters@telenet.be 0484/954344
Many hands make light work. The organizers can count on the appreciated cooperation of several associations from Adegem.
A heartfelt word of thanks also goes out to the many sponsors.
