Chamber Orchestra Frascati Symphonic

For this New Year's concert, Frascati exchanges the symphonic line-up for the chamber orchestra. Let that not dampen the musical fun. Dirigent Kris Stroobants has once again put together a beautiful program with classical masterpieces. Johann Christian Bach sets the tone with his 'Overture in D'. Then follow the 'Ancient Airs and Dances Suite no. 3' by Ottorino Respighi and the famous 'Holberg Suite' by Edvard Grieg. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart sounds twice. First you hear his 'Symphony no. 29 in A major', known from the film 'Amadeus'. The highlight is the virtuoso fifth violin concerto with soloist Karen Su, laureate of the Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd 2024. A New Year's concert is of course not complete without sparkling music by Johann Strauss. And the encore? You can guess that.
