Workshop | Unwritten Letters

During the workshop Ongeschreven Brieven we give words and images to what was never sent or never fully said. Inspired by letters from the museum collection, we explore what still requires attention through expressive writing, art journaling, and creative working methods. Het Red Star Line Museum is a place of stories, departure, and hope. In the museum collection there are historical letters in which people share their experiences, desires, and worries with those who stay behind. In this workshop, letters as a form of connection are central. What do you write to someone who is far away? What do you tell, what do you leave out? How do you reassure a worried mother? What words remain unwritten? Inspired by historical letters from the collection, we get to work with expressive writing, art journaling, and other creative working methods. We give words and images to what was never sent, never said, or still requires attention. Yamille Melendez is a resilience and burnout coach and creative therapist in training. From her background in the corporate world and her passion for creativity, she guides people to reflect in an accessible way on what is alive within them.
