A YEAR OF SCHOOL

The outspoken Zweedse Fred begins her final school year in a new country, a new city, and therefore a new school: the Technische School van Trieste on the Adriatic coast of Italy. As the only woman in a class full of boys, she is soon the center of attention. She receives attention especially from three friends: the fascinating and modest Antero, the extroverted casanova Pasini, and the sweet and protective Mitis. With her arrival, Fred brings a new dynamic to the group of friends, which has existed as long as the three can remember. Every boy longs for Fred in his own way and together they balance on the thin line between a warm friendship and mischievous romance, with the necessary rivalry. But to truly become part of the group, Fred has to endure more and more opposition and give up more and more of herself.
