After a past as a jazz pianist, Hendrik Lasure found with his debut Het Wiel a new, quirky form in the Dutch-language song. What started as a daring jump outside his musical comfort zone has grown into a deep conviction. In his whimsical universe, Lasure explores the boundaries of the alternative life song, choosing an unpolished diction and a recognizable, everyday vernacular.
