CW Ayon

Although CW Ayon makes his home in the deserts of the American Southwest of New Mexico, his musical heart is firmly anchored in the blues and the hypnotic grooves of Mississippi Hill country. With a minimal setup of kick drum, snare drum, and tambourine, he creates a powerful rhythmic foundation while playing compelling riffs on both acoustic and resonator guitars. Occasionally, he adds raw harmonica to the mix. The result is a characteristic sound and playing style that sounds deceptively larger than you would expect. In 2010, Ayon was awarded a New Mexico Music Award for best blues song thanks to his track 'Seen My Baby'. Three years later, he won the same award again with 'End of My Rope'. His primary musical influences include Junior Kimbrough, R. L. Burnside, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, and Robert Belfour.
