Jonas Meersmans - Album release

As an autodidact, Jonas Meersmans developed his own personal instrumental language on the guitar over the years, floating between neoclassical layered compositions and psychedelic narrative fingerpicking. On his fourth album (March 2027, Rotkat Records) the Antwerp guitarist and composer chooses a broader sound. Where on the previous album the more intimate interaction between acoustic guitar and strings was central, he now surrounds himself with a full-fledged band. The recognizable fingerpicking sound is still the basis, but is enriched with an energetic rhythm section, brass, and electric guitar arrangements. The album is the successor to his third solo album Glassman (Werf Records, 2024), which was warmly received with airplay on Radio 1 and Klara, a five-star review in the British UK Vibe ("Undoubtedly one of my favourite albums of the year.") and concerts at, among others, Gent Jazz and in De Roma.
