Day trip to De Blankaart!

De Blankaart is a beautiful nature reserve and provincial domain in Woumen (Diksmuide), located in the floodable Yser valley. The area is known for its marshy landscape, rare birds, and the iconic castle that houses the visitor center. It is a paradise for bird watchers with various observation huts and a lookout tower. There is a very high chance that during the walk and boat trip with a nature guide you will witness the first flying lessons of the young sea eagles! Departure: 8:30 sharp, parking De Warande, Warandelaan, Wetteren. Meeting at 8:15: carpooling! Return: around 18:00 Bring: boots or sturdy walking shoes, packed lunch (drinks can be purchased on site), binoculars (don't forget!) Maximum 25 places available, so be quick if you want to be sure of a spot on the boat!) PARTICIPATION costs € 12.00 for non-members, € 10.00 for Natuurpunt members, € 5.00 for children up to and including 12 years old. The boat trip with the whisper boat and the fee for the local guide are included. Please let Jean-Marie know if you can drive yourself, and how many extra passengers can potentially come along. If you cannot drive yourself, but would like to ride with another driver, we ask for € 10.00 per person (bring cash) as a contribution to the transport costs. That money will then be collected on site and distributed equally among the drivers who take extra passengers.
