Mallejazz: Benefit for South-Africa

Benefit concert for South Africa De Zuid-African jazz musician Tony Yoko (drums & percussive) presents his ‘ Retro Swing Sextet ‘ in our Gemeenschapscentrum Westmalle. He invites several renowned guest musicians he meets in the broad jazz scene. The central guest is the Belgian jazz musician Dirk Van Der Linden (Hammond, piano, and guitar). Het Retro Swing Sextet is a collaboration between Belgian and South African musicians. It further consists of Anne Marie Elstner (South Africa, vocals), Dan Selsick (South Africa, trombone), Peter Kox (Belgium, trumpet), Dirk de Schoenmaker (Belgium, saxophone), and Marc Roosendans (Belgium, double bass). Together they bring well-known Broadway songs from the ‘American Songbook’ and popular film songs, presented with zest and charm. It is a jazz concert with its own face and sound: even non-jazz fans will enjoy it. With all those top musicians, it promises to be another super jazz evening at GC Alice Forceville.
