In a far-reaching adaptation of Ilja Leonard Pfeijffers's monumental novel, Zuidpool brings the story of Alcibiades. Na Long Day’s Journey into Night is his latest performance for the large stage. Sofie Decleir played in numerous Zuidpool productions, including Long Day's Journey into Night and De aanzegster, and with companies and houses such as Olympique Dramatique, Toneelhuis, Antigone, and KVS. She can also be seen in films and series such as Julie zwijgt, WIL, De twaalf, and How To Kill Your Sister. Mona Lahousse graduated in 2024 from the acting program of the Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerpen and went on an exchange for a year to the Toneelacademie Maastricht. Her graduation performance AGE OF PANIC was selected for Theater Aan Zee, Jong Werk. She acted in Huis van Troje by Toneelschuur and ITA and in BRO’S by Dimitri Leue. Ilja Leonard Pfeijffer is a classicist, poet, and the writer of contemporary classics such as La Superba, Brieven uit Genua, and Grand Hotel Europa. Voor Zuidpool he wrote the text for the successful theater performance De aanzegster in 2020. Alkibiades is his most ambitious novel and was awarded the Boon literature prize.
