Love and passion are timeless, just like music. Composers from different eras and cultures have repeatedly let themselves be inspired by these powerful emotions. In their music, longing, joy, sadness, and hope resonate. Tonight, Serafima Yavarouskaya and Julia Toumassian bring a varied program in which these feelings are central. Let yourself be carried away by the sounds of the carillon and experience this musical journey full of love and passion. Julia Toumassian (Mechelen, 2000) and Serafima Yavarouskaya (Belarus, 1999) followed the carillon and piano training at the Koninklijke Beiaardschool Jef Denyn in Mechelen. From the children's class of the carillon school, they participated in numerous concerts and carillon festivals at home and abroad, including in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Russia, and Portugal. In addition, they contributed to various television and radio programs, including Klara, VTM, Ketnet, and Radio 2. In 2014, Julia Toumassian became a laureate with a third place at the Youth Carillon Competition in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux. In 2016, she achieved the Tweede Prijs at the Youth Carillon Competition in Deinze. In recent years, Serafima Yavarouskaya and Julia Toumassian have provided both solo and duo concerts at home and abroad, with performances in, among others, Cobh and Perpignan. In 2020, both obtained the carillonneur diploma at the Koninklijke Beiaardschool Jef Denyn. Currently, they are following a specialization year there. In addition to her musical training, Serafima obtained a bachelor's in Interactieve Multimedia Design and a bachelor's in Digital Media Management at Thomas More in Mechelen. Furthermore, she is active within a theater company and is regularly invited for auditions for various film projects. Currently, she works as a Performance Marketeer at an agency in Mechelen.
