Get on your bike, enjoy the landscape, and dive into the story of our coastal defense. An ideal outing for families, history fans, and curious explorers. Tijdens Bunkerdag will cycle you past various bunkers from the First and Tweede Wereldoorlog. At each bunker, you will discover a letter. Put all the letters in the correct order to form the code word with which you will receive a fun gadget at the end of the route. In addition, you will encounter music, re-enactors, or an expert guide along the way who brings the bunker and its associated history back to life. Starting point: Bunker ‘Tilly 2’ at the back of Westfront Nieuwpoort, Sluizen 1, 8620 Nieuwpoort. There you will receive a route map and a form for the quest. We will also take you inside the bunker. The route is approximately 16 km. Free departure between 10 AM and 2 PM. The last tour in the bunker at the starting point begins at 2 PM. There are various stops on the route where there is something to experience: music, guides, and actors bring the bunkers back to life. End point: you can pick up your gadget until 5 PM in Westfront Nieuwpoort Participation is free, but advance registration is mandatory.
