What happens when 'wild nature' and imagination meet? When a winding Scheldt points the way to a garden full of art? With BEELDENSTROOM , Natuurpunt Damvallei and Damo Arte join forces for a unique experience in which nature and culture flow seamlessly into each other. In de Damvallei – the green gateway to the Nationaal Park Scheldevallei – the landscape itself forms the backdrop for an open-air photo exhibition. Along a carefully mapped out walking and cycling route of approximately 5 kilometres, you will discover historical images that tell the story of this region: from the old Scheldt arms and vast meadows to the life and work of fishermen, willow growers, hunters and brickmakers. No walls or thresholds here: nature is the gallery, freely accessible to anyone who lets themselves be carried along the route. At the end – or beginning – of this stream of images, another world awaits. The idyllic landscape garden of Damo Arte transforms this summer into an enchanting sculpture garden. Nine artists present their work there in dialogue with the greenery, the silence and the seasons. Between June 21 and August 31, 2026, you can walk past sculptures that nestle between trees, lie hidden in the grass or light up in the sunlight. The garden is freely accessible every Sunday and public holiday from 10 am to 6 pm, or by appointment. BEELDENSTROOM connects. Nature lovers are led past images and stories to art in the garden. Art lovers are invited to look further, leave the garden and immerse themselves in the surrounding landscape.
