Sunday the Ninth

Zondag de Negenste tells the story of the brothers Horst (Josse De Pauw) and Franz (Peter Van den Begin) who see each other again after a life full of missed opportunities. Horst suffers from a lack of joy in life and Alzheimer's. Franz needs money and hopes for his brother's inheritance. Ook Andrea, the great love of Horst, appears. Determined to make up for her lost time. Old passions, old wounds and a rivalry between two brothers that goes back further than they realize. Whether we still know what happened at ‘Zondag de Negenste’ or not. The film weaves the memories of two brothers with those of the residents of a residential care center and therefore tells, in a unique way, that caring for each other is perhaps the most essential form of humanity.
