In Tender Rage - a two-act artistic intervention - Luanda Casella, together with drummer Eric Thielemans, explores this ambiguous emotion. In her work, the Brazilian theatre-maker, in-house artist at DE SINGEL, dissects how language and stories shape our reality. After years of researching ‘unreliable narrators,’ she now turns to the question of truth. For this, Casella draws on memes - 21st-century proverbs. In the tension between folk wisdom and virality,Tender Rage slows down the stream and restores weight to words. A diptych unfolds: proverbs for a strange world, a text installation, and unplugged fearless speech, a performance on the Kunstenplein where speaking itself becomes a risky act.
