Where is everybody ?

A fervent follower of the responsibility and freedom of performers, Thomas Hauert relies on it here more than ever. On the stage shared by the members of Cie ZOO and Platform K, outside of any hierarchy, a creative, collaborative, singularly intense, and joyfully interactive experience is played out. Hatched in January 2026, the creation takes root three years earlier, when ZOO makes contact with Platform K, a Ghent association that trains artists with disabilities in contemporary dance. For two weeks in 2023, Thomas Hauert introduces these extraordinary dancers to his approach to improvisation: enriching the gestural vocabulary, fostering spontaneous and complex interaction with other people, space, and music. Thus, a kind of alchemy will germinate, leading 6 performers (3 from ZOO, 3 from Platform K) towards a show that dismantles the hierarchical logics of transmission to celebrate an aesthetic explored, invented, and claimed by all. Beyond the margins, a common language unfolds, an organic resonance, a bubbling of points of view, a transformation of the way of thinking about creation and, with it, otherness and presence.
