We will take an extensive tour of the port of Antwerp (the second largest port in Europe).
A specialized port guide will take us in tow. We start with a visit to the new Port House (the headquarters of the port) and view the port from the air on a large port map. This gives us an idea of the trip we are going to make.
After that, we start our tour through the old port with its many terminals. Unique is also that we will drive into a terminal to view the port activities from even closer.
At noon we enjoy a delicious 3-course lunch, excl. drinks (menu choice comes later)
In the afternoon we continue our discovery along the train marshalling yard, the green zones, sugar warehouses, container terminals, the petrochemical industry, and the large locks. Door de Liefkenshoektunnel we drive to the new port and the largest lock in the world, the Kieldrecht lock. Finally, the car terminals, where 1.5 million cars are transported per year, and also the logistics terminals of Katoennatie.
With the water bus, we take a small boat trip towards the beach of Sint-Anneke. Here we end the day with a piece of cake and coffee.
