Saint Jazz celebrates its 40th anniversary

For its 40th edition, the Festival Saint Jazz makes a stopover once again at Cultural Center Jacques Franck, on Friday, October 9, 2026. For four decades, Saint Jazz has cultivated an open and audacious programming, where jazz dialogues freely with other musical languages. For this anniversary evening, the festival offers three concerts with very distinct universes: the Latin pop and folktronica of Paloma del Rey, the contemporary jazz of Dehanni and the Cuban latin-jazz of Circuito Abierto. An evening placed under the sign of discovery, diversity and the pleasure of sharing music, faithful to the spirit of Saint Jazz. Paloma del Rey Au crossroads of an intimate Latin pop and a dancing folktronica, Paloma del Rey takes us between Amérique du Sud and Brussels, between Andean roots and electronic sonorities. A Belgo-Chilean singer, she builds her music around the charango, a small ten-string guitar of the Andes, which she mixes with organic instruments and electronic textures. Her first EP, Dame tu mano, released on March 6, 2026, explores sensitivity, mixing and the quest for roots. On stage, accompanied by Kaluze, multi-instrumentalist, Paloma del Rey deploys a voice sometimes soft and moving, sometimes powerful and solar. A sensitive, colorful and dancing universe, where emotions transform into music. Dehanni Nouveau Brussels trio formed by three long-time friends, Dehanni explores the shifting territories of jazz, trip-hop and electro. Autour de Thomas Vandendorpe on drums, Brice Clauss on saxophone and effects, and Raphael Laguerre on keyboards, the group develops an organic, immersive and intensely groovy music. Inspired notably by J Dilla, Yussef Dayes and The Comet Is Coming, Dehanni favors long improvised stretches, sound textures and a stage energy that leaves no one indifferent. A dive into contemporary jazz, between groove, improvisation and poisonous atmospheres. Circuito Abierto Le Cuban trumpet player Rubén Hernández and singer-songwriter Pucho Díaz present Circuito Abierto, a project that makes the roots of Cuban music converse with contemporary sonorities. Between cha-cha-cha, songo, funk and jazz, their music mixes Pucho Díaz's voice and writing with Rubén Hernández's arrangements, in a warm, rhythmic universe open to the world. A current Cuban expression, where tradition, improvisation and energy meet to create a singular musical identity.
