Søfia & Margitte - electronic double concert

Sat, 19 Sept 2026 · 20:00
Arscene vzw, Hansbeke (Deinze)
€12–15
On this evening, Arscene resolutely chooses young and electronic. And this twice! We start with a driven duo, two final-year students at the pop and rock school PXL in Hasselt with a passion for music. Søfia, the project of Samson Brendonck and Jef Solie, moves between electronic music, indie and ambient. Their songs are quiet and intimate, with a subtle electronic edge that takes the listener into their world. With minimal instrumentation and attention to detail, Søfia creates dreamy, atmospheric music. Here you can find some listening fragments. Samson Brendonck Elektronica, percussion, keys, guitar, voice Jef Solie Elektronica, keys, guitar, voice After a break, we welcome Margitte to our stage, the band around Ghent musician Margot De Ridder. She presents her debut album Gentle, a record full of soft synths, dreamy voice and fragile lyrics; a universe full of night and mist. After several years of experience as a songwriter and performer in projects such as MMZL, Whisper Party and Les Bandits, Margitte emerged as a natural extension of her personal and musical growth. The sound is layered, ethereal but never distant — think of a cross between dream pop, indie rock and subtle electronica, with influences from, among others, PJ Harvey, Portishead, Fiona Apple,… With her debut Gentle, Margitte finds her voice in the space between introspection and intensity. The album is a plea for gentleness, slowing down and connection — with yourself, with the other, and with nature as a mirror. Margitte sings about the reflection on alienation, change and (self)care, without moralizing. Gentle seeks the middle ground between strength and softness, between chaos and silence. The songs were partly created in isolation, but now resonate all the more in our time of collective unrest. “Take care, I’ll carry you – carry me, care to be gentle” — a central line that summarizes the album. Singles “Off”, “Abyss”, “Soil” and “Gentle” came as a harbinger and passed the revue on Radio Willy (Slacker Station) and Radio1 (Time-Out, Wonderland) Here you can already take a look at Margitte.
