Jan De Smet: Solo and without much Cinema

In the course of his musician's existence, singer / composer / songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jan De Smet has collected a very extensive musical baggage. He was able to spend part of that for 32 years with De Nieuwe Snaar, but a lot of that specific material only sporadically surfaced because of this. This repertoire is now also being made public in this solo performance. Irresistible urge is the cause of this. Accompanying himself on half a dozen different instruments, Jan will surrender himself "Solo and without much Cinema" to the repertoire that will present itself that day. Many own (sometimes unknown) work, but also "Muzikale Monumentenzorg" where the work of Wannes van de Velde, Drs.P, Bob Dylan, Jaap Fisher, The (legendary) Ukulogisch Museum and (even) the Nieuwe Snaar is kept alive. Also indispensable are the stories and funny anecdotes around and about the carefully selected material. The repertoire is entirely in Dutch and can be adjusted in terms of binding text to the needs, interests, and wishes of the audience present.
