Village center walk

A walk from the distant to the recent past with a guide. Every half hour, a walk departs from the reception to the Sint-Michaëlshoeve, originally Craeyestede, at the time the farm of the local lord. Walk around the church with attention to the “ommegang” (procession route). On the outside, there are six reliefs in terracotta (1877) depicting Our Lady of Zeven Smarten, by Georges Dunstheimer. The polychromy has largely disappeared. The seventh “sorrow” is the calvary sculpture group in a niche of the choir facade. Visit to the cemetery with remarkable graves such as the family grave De Croo, the grave of Panamarenko, and also old gravestones and memorial stones.
