Carillon Concert Jasper Depraetere

For the afternoon concert on this light abbey carillon, Jasper Depraetere compiled a program with entertaining and recognizable music from the past 4 centuries: from Mozart, Haydn and F. Sor to a swinging suite to 'the Beauty and the Beast'. Jasper is carillonneur of our municipality and deputy city carillonneur of Lier. He studied at the Koninklijke Beiaardschool 'Jef Denyn' in Mechelen and at the Luca School of Arts. He obtained his Master of Music in carillon and music education there with the highest distinction. A year later he graduated as the very first carillonneur with a Master of Music in chamber music, also with the highest distinction. In 2019 he obtained the second prize in the Internationale Beiaardwedstrijd Koningin Fabiola in Mechelen. He teaches at the Carillon School in Mechelen. Since this year he is also chairman of the Vlaamse Beiaardvereniging.
