Food for silence | mourning for the world

This activity invites attention to loss that often remains underexposed: mourning the degradation of nature and climate, the loss of certainty, and a growing feeling of unrest in the world. We start at the Onument in Egenhoven, Leuven, with a first sharing moment. In a simple listening circle, you can express how this theme touches you. From that shared experience, we set off on a silent walk of approximately 2 – 3 km through forest and open landscape. Along the way, you collect natural elements that symbolize your experience of loss. There is room for exchange in small groups, where attentive listening to the other is central. After the walk, we come together again at the Onument for a second circle. We place the found natural elements in the center and together create a piece of nature art that remains at the site of the Onument. Afterwards, you write a personal memory, thought, or insight on a sheet of handmade paper bordered with embroidery thread. You fold it into a small, tangible symbol that you carry with you: a comfort handkerchief. What can you expect?
