Flo, Lili and Mina are the guardians of a temple in peril: the Maison Charlemagne, the family pastry shop. For two centuries, their family has established the pastry shop as a way of life, putting "the grace of Mozart into the fresh cream". But the world has changed. Between these banker rats and this mysterious client who earns them a muscular police interrogation, the three sisters waver. Confronted with bankruptcy, they resist with elegance and causticity. Faced with the decline of homemade craftsmanship and the advent of the insipid croissant, they deploy a fierce verve, a scathing humor and an unfailing solidarity. Les Pâtissières, a bittersweet comedy, where one prefers to sink with elegance rather than betray the father's recipe. A tasty and poignant play about resistance, transmission and the courage to remain upright and proud until the end. Jean-Marie Piemme, one of the essential Belgian playwrights, tells us about these three sisters in a language that is structured, flowery, political and which touches us deeply. Piemme gives us back a taste for beauty and gluttony. Mediocrity had better watch out! Let us push back the bitterness of the world with delight. _______ By: Jean-Marie Piemme / Staging: Frederik Haùgness / With: Véronique Dumont, Jacqueline Nicolas, cécile van snick / Assistant to the staging: Mathilde Bourguet / Scenography: Noémie Vanheste / Costumes: Laurence Hermant / Lighting: Jérôme Dejean _______ A PRODUCTION OF THE THÉÂTRE LE PUBLIC.
