INVITATION GIRDLE TOURS 2026 For the 36th consecutive time, the Vlaamse Werkgroep “DE VREDE” v.z.w. – Vlezenbeek department is organizing guided cycling tours through the Pajottenland and the Zenne valley every Wednesday evening from June 24 up to and including September 16. Participation in these cycling tours is free for everyone. As always, the route is carefully chosen. A beautiful, quiet environment and safe roads are priorities here. That one occasionally gets a dusty dirt road under the wheels because of this must be taken for granted. The tours always start at the Vlezenbeekse Gemeenteplein at 6:45 PM. ATTENTION: From August 19, we start as early as 6:15 PM! The distance fluctuates mostly between 25 and 45 km and is therefore also suitable for less experienced cyclists. Moreover, a moderate pace is maintained so that everyone can fully enjoy the trip. After the tour, the temptation is great to quench your thirst in a local catering establishment. Also along the way, if the opportunity arises, we dismount for a moment to enjoy the atmosphere on a local terrace. Ideal for discovering the region, its history, its monuments, and its intimate spots… Concretely: every Wednesday evening at 6:45 PM – from 19/8: 6:15 PM - period: from June 24 up to and including September 16, 2026 - start: Gemeenteplein Vlezenbeek - distance: 25 to 45 km - average speed: 15 to 18 km/hour - participation: free - bicycle technically completely in order (lights!) safety tips: participants ride at their own risk and pay the greatest attention to the safety of the group. The cycling tours are prepared and explored by volunteer tour leaders. For the sake of order, they ride at the head of the group. Therefore, respect the guidelines they provide you. Ensure that your bicycle is always optimally in order. Respect the traffic code. On busy roads, all cyclists ride one behind the other. Use bicycle paths where possible.
