Testelt, pearl on the Demer.

The village center of Testelt is defined by a number of monuments together with typical, fairly intact, well-integrated buildings from the 19th century. De Sint-Pieterskerk, the oil warehouse, and the villa Terwolf of industrialist Alfons Theyskens, and the 15th-century water mill are all within a stone's throw of each other. De Demer defines the character of the village in combination with the village buildings. The area around the Voortberg, a 50-meter-high witness hill of the Diestian Sea, was protected as a landscape in 1982. On the flanks of the hill, viticulture was practiced before the Franse Revolutie. Many therefore speak of the "Wijngaardberg".
