The Groote-Faes Duo

Electric guitar and double bass in a sophisticated dialogue between jazz, chamber music, and sound experimentation. Intimate, quirky, unusually melodic. Bruno De Groote (guitar) and Ben Faes (double bass) bring together two distinct voices: De Groote with roots in rock, jazz, and sound experimentation; Faes connected to major European classical orchestras and contemporary chamber music. Their musical language is simultaneously layered and disarmingly clear, melodic and abstract, accessible and defiant. Since 2014, they have been exploring refined ideas and radical subtlety. Their albums 'En Route' (2016) and 'Symphony for 2 Little Boys' (2021), featuring guest trumpeter Dave Douglas, were showered with praise both at home and abroad. In 2026, 'Time Unfolding' will be released, a new album as a trio with drummer Dré Pallemaerts. Live, they always return to the familiar, refined duo setting.
