Discover the abbey site of Vlierbeek and its beautiful church

Together with a guide from the Heemkundige Kring Vlierbeek non-profit organization, you will go on a voyage of discovery through the abbey site. Naturally, a visit to the magnificent abbey church, the masterpiece of architect Laurent-Benoît Dewez, is one of the highlights. During this guided tour, you will learn more about the rich history of the abbey and how the life of the Benedictine monks played out there for almost seven centuries. Stories about the period after the dissolution of the abbey in 1796 will also be covered. Benedictines are no longer there, but Vlierbeek lives like never before. During the 2025 anniversary year, in which we celebrated 900 years of Abdij van Vlierbeek, that was clearly evident.
