DE KIFT in muziekclub N9

We can now rightly count De Kift among the Dutch pop heritage. For 38 years, the Zaankanters have been an idiosyncratic bird of paradise in the music circuit. With lyrics taken from world literature and the combination of punk, pop, theater, and brass band, they master the art of moving and simultaneously unleashing a party like no other. Since its founding in 1988, De Kift has released thirteen studio albums. The band always knows how to surprise. If not with an album packaged in twenty cut-up postcards, then it is through a new collaboration with, for example, Rats on Rafts, Calexico of Franz Ferdinand. The performance ‘The lonely one’ takes place in the time between the last record of De Kift - ‘No man's land’ from 2024 - and the successor that will be released in 2027. Against a background of film fragments and drawings, we meet old acquaintances. We hear lyrics and music that De Kift has not played for a long time. In addition, we meet new characters and new music sounds, which will eventually end up on the 14th record of De Kift. This concert is part of LANDROVERS and takes place in muziekclub N9 in Eeklo (Belgium). LANDROVERS is the groundbreaking musical exchange project, set up by two experienced music houses on either side of the Dutch-Belgian border; De Spot (Middelburg) and muziekclub N9 (Eeklo).
