This way, you will discover special plants and animals that are harder to see during the day. Where? The walk starts at the visitor center. Enter the park and follow the arrows. But every evening is different. It could well be that certain animals do not show themselves, or that you spot a rare animal. These plants and animals are the most likely candidates: Mole crickets in the rose garden Listen carefully and you might hear the soft, vibrating sound of mole crickets. These special insects resemble moles and 'sing' mainly on warm evenings to attract a partner. Scents of the evening Did you know that honeysuckle starts to smell especially in the evening? The flowers open up and spread a strong, sweet scent to attract nocturnal moths that pollinate the flowers. Beavers at the reed meadow At twilight, beavers prepare for the night. With some luck, you will see tracks or even a beaver heading out along the water. Marc will tell you how these animals live and shape the landscape. Roe deer in the willow wilderness Roe deer show themselves mainly at sunrise and sunset. In the quiet willow wilderness, you have the best chance of spotting them. Learn to recognize their behavior and discover where they hide in the park. Bats in the hotel ruin When it gets dark, the bats appear. Using their echolocation, they fly silently through the air in search of insects. During twilight, they are most active and you can observe them well. Night-flowering catchfly This special plant only opens its flowers in the evening. It is perfectly adapted to pollination by nocturnal moths and is a real treasure for those who go out in the evening.
